How to Write a Critical Essay

This course has taught me various skills, from improving clarity to providing proper essay structure. To begin with, I needed help providing a clear message in my body paragraphs. I put unnecessary details that ultimately confuse the sentence fluency for the readers. By working on cutting out unnecessary information, my readers were able to understand the message of the passage thoroughly. This helped me retain an interest in my papers. Constructive feedback was another critical skill I gained from this class. In high school, I never gave feedback on other individuals' work. This was unfamiliar and a new skill to learn. At first, I was worried that my feedback might come off as rude or unhelpful. It was causing me to be reluctant to provide my thoughts, however, after going through this process in multiple papers. I established confidence with my constructive feedback. Allowing me to see different perspectives/writing styles and help classmates. Structure was a significant skill I learned as well. My organization of paragraphs was all over the place. However, the feedback I was given allowed me to understand where the problem was located. I am now more aware of providing a well-organized essay. The advice I would give to students using the blogging assignments is to be creative and have fun with it. I enjoyed the process, which helped me focus on my essays. In future classes, I will take my time coming up with the message I want to convey and provide an organized structure in my writing.
