Rough Draft

    Murphy’s desire to have his autism be looked as a plus in the medical field started off slow. The other main characters all had judged him right from the start. Dr. Claire Browne in the beginning felt as if she would need to babysit Murphy. In season one, she would always have a worried/concerned look for herself. This is due to the fact no one knows what to expect Murphy to say or do. Murphy is always a surprise. 

    Murphy influences almost all the doctors. By his influence changing his colleges minds on autism, he accomplishes his goal. He proved his autism is a gift, not a mistake. The challenges Murphy went through was a battle. Life through many obstacles for him to overcome. For example, one doctor was goin around the hospital and making up lies about Murphy. Murphy confronted him and stopped his malicious intent. 

    Murphy's confidence was a struggle from the very start. His demeanor was shy and timid as he did not want to over step on anyone. Especially when they were wrong as it was not in his nature to confront. For example, In the show, Murphy was with another doctor who was self centered and believed he knew all the options to treat the patient. When the doctor left the room, Murphy went over and talked to the doctor's patient and asked him if he would like to try another solution. When the patient agreed, the doctor was furious. Murphy's analysis was right, the patent lived. This kind of event only grew from there. Murphy began to Check other doctors' patients to see if the best course of action was taken. If not, he would step in.

    In the middle/end of the show, Dr. Murphy has gained the respect of almost everyone. There are a few struggling to accept Murphy's brilliance. However, the few are slowly beginning to fold and ask him for help. In the show mid season. A doctor was faced with a dire situation. His patient needed to be operated on and was bleeding out. The doctor in charge of this case was too stuck up that he did not want someone to page Murphy. However, a nurse did and Murphy came. Instantly Dr. Murphy knew how to target the bleeding and do the operation. At the end of the surgery, the patient thanked the doctor but the doctor told him to thank Murphy.
