This course has taught me various skills, from improving clarity to providing proper essay structure. To begin with, I needed help providing a clear message in my body paragraphs. I put unnecessary details that ultimately confuse the sentence fluency for the readers. By working on cutting out unnecessary information, my readers were able to understand the message of the passage thoroughly. This helped me retain an interest in my papers. Constructive feedback was another critical skill I gained from this class. In high school, I never gave feedback on other individuals' work. This was unfamiliar and a new skill to learn. At first, I was worried that my feedback might come off as rude or unhelpful. It was causing me to be reluctant to provide my thoughts, however, after going through this process in multiple papers. I established confidence with my constructive feedback. Allowing me to see different perspectives/writing styles and help classmates. Structure was a significan

I have decided to continue with my topic on Native Americans. In looking for sources, I found numerous articles, journals, newspapers and etc. I will say some sources were hard to connect to the topic as they did not relate to tribes in health care. I had to redo my key words in the searching process. Some key words I used when searching for my sources were, Native American health care and Native American health care problems. These helped me narrow the search on what I should included with my paper. Here are some links to a few sources I found.  Diversity & Inclusion in Clinical Trials, https://www.nimhd.nih.gov/resources/understanding-health-disparities/diversity-and-inclusion-in-clinical-trials.html   “To account for the diverse lived experiences and exposures of various populations, clinical trials must be appropriately inclusive of racial and ethnic minority groups, as well as other populations experiencing health disparities, including sexual and gender minority or socioec

For my writing project I will focus on Native Americans and the healthcare system. I choose this topic as it consists of geography and economic challenges. Two challenges that create a difficult environment for Native Americans to get good quality health care. Then there is also ethnicity that is brought into the unfair treatment. I plan on talking about how each one of these issues and how they deal with the Native American community in health care. Another reason I chose to talk about the Native Americans is because I live in Mammoth Lakes, CA. The next town below Mammoth has a Native American tribe. I plan on incorporating some of my experiences/ the stories I've heard in my project.

After some consideration, I will be discussing the future of embryos if gene editing will become a reality. The changing of embryos is a very controversial topic as scientists are playing god with nature. Scientists have been striving to achieve this goal of gene editing. In their point of view, this would be able to grow human civilization to an extent that humans now are unable to reach now. If this gene editing becomes a service to consumers, people can change their child's DNA to be faster or smarter. While this can be seen as a remarkable achievement, numerous ethical problems arise from this editing. For one, will this create a superiority of the people who are biologically changed amongst natural borns? People very well could be separated in society as natural borns might find it quite more challenging to keep up with biologically changed humans. Will the ability to acquire this process being done only be limited to the amount of money a person has? Or will it be a lo

For my writing project three topic, I will discuss the ethical dilemma with scientists editing DNA in human embryos. So far, I have gathered some information on the benefits and negative attributes. A positive that has the scientific community excited about is being able to cut/take out defects in DNA. So if a mutation is spotted, all the scientists have to do is cut out the problem to cure the condition. A quick and effective way. As for a negative, quite a significant amount of people expressed the long term challenges socially. Many scientists say that having people biologically smarter will create a superiority aspect among people. There are more facts about this topic but this is the direction I am heading in.

Writing Project 2

For writing project number two, I will be discussing how the government can influence Americans to be healthier in eating. The numerous strategies they can take like providing more posters and education around Americans on this subject. They can also provide subsidies targeted to healthy food. I will also discuss the challenges the government and people will face.

Food Problems in America

My topic will be discussing the food changes in America's diet. The laws were set in place that allowed certain types of foods to be produced. How these laws impacted numerous people's lives and thus caused significant problems like diseases. Using the three sources I have, I will talk about the changes in food that the American people were subject to and how they influenced their lives. Certain foods are heavily involved with chemicals in the making phase among other negative attributes. I will also talk about different kinds of diseases that can be achieved with certain diets. How each type of food relates to the disease. The other point I will make is adapting the right diet to undertake a healthy routine. This will show the reader the importance of staying with a program and how it will help them avoid certain diseases or health risks with food. This essay will include the changes in food and the negative/good food choices. The different perspectives I have found are m
